Ventilation

How do I know what type of ventilation we have?

If the residence does not have a visible air supply unit then the housing company most probably has an exhaust air system.

How do I know if my building has good indoor air?

Indoor air ventilation is good if the air changes once every two hours. Ventilation is not sufficient if the air is stuffy or if for example, the moisture after a shower doesn’t disappear after a maximum of 15 minutes.

If you suspect a mould problem, contact your housing company representative. If you are a tenant, you can also contact your landlord for help. Before seeking assistance you can read through the Indoor-air Guide of the Allergy and Asthma Federation. You can also invest in an indoor air quality meter.

Clarifying problems with indoor air oftentimes requires a professional. Mould is not always the only health problems causing factor. It is important for residents to know about their air quality, especially if symptoms occur.
